Transportation Safety ManagerThe Transportation Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing safety for the Transportation division of Midwest Refrigerated Services – MRT.At Midwest Refrigerated Services, we are driven by our Midwest Values of:ModestyIntegrityDependabilityWork EthicEfficiencySafetyTrustIt is the expectation that all employees exemplify these values.General Responsibilities include:Maintain all driver training and ensure that all operational activities are in compliance with all State and Federal rules & regulations.Oversee and manage the Accident Investigation processMonitor and manage CSA scoresMonitor, review, and address Hours of Service for each driver to ensure continuous compliance with Federal Regulations.Quarterly Safety Meetings for driversConduct driver counseling regarding infractions of rules and proceduresDriver training and remedial training – Start training on the SMITH SystemCoordinate and conduct training and continuous education for driversYearly reporting – FMCSA and insuranceRegulatory reviews – HOS, CSA ScoresOmnitracs – system use and successEquipment PermittingOverall reduction in risk cost to the enterpriseSkills Required:Proficient knowledge and understanding of DOT rules and regulations as well as FMCSRsProficient in Microsoft SuitePrerequisites:4-year degree preferred not required5 years minimum Safety and regulatory compliance work in Asset based trucking firm2 years minimum associate ManagementPerformance Measurements:Accidents per Million miles (Preventable / Non preventable / Recordable / Non-Recordable)Claims costs YOY and frequencyBenefits and Perks:MRS benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, Flex Spending Account, Dependent Care Flex Spending Account available the 1st of the month following 30 days of hire.
