Fall Mountain Lake is a quiet, 28-acre private lake located in Terryville, Connecticut, surrounded by a close-knit residential community. Maintained by the Fall Mountain Lake municipal taxing district, the lake and its amenities are reserved for use by the 300 property-owning families in the community.
šļø Beaches
- Dulac Beach
The larger of the two community beaches, located on the eastern side, Dulac Beach features a small playground, picnic tables, and grills and is a favorite gathering spot for families throughout the warmer months. - LaBrecque Beach
A smaller, quieter beach on the western side, perfect for peaceful swims, relaxing in the sun. Picnic tables are available here as well.
Both beaches offer direct access to the lakeās clean, swimmable water. While the lake is generally shallow, life vests are recommended for all lake activities.
- There are no lifeguards on duty.
- Dogs are not permitted on the beaches.
- Fishing is not allowed on beaches when swimmers are present.
- Use of the lake is at your own risk.

Resident-issued bracelets are required for beach access. (see below Boat Access below)
š§ Clean Water
What some have called the cleanest lake in Connecticut.
The water quality of Fall Mountain Lake is a point of pride for our community. The Property Owners Association takes an active role in ensuring the lake remains clean, clear, and safe for recreation.
- The lake undergoes regular water testing, including monitoring for bacteria, pH levels, and other environmental markers to ensure swimmable conditions.
- As needed, the lake is treated with state-approved, environmentally responsible methods to control invasive plants and algae. These treatments are scheduled carefully to protect both residents and native wildlife.
Thanks to these effortsāand the shared respect our residents have for the lakeāFall Mountain Lake has been called by many “the cleanest lake in Connecticut.”
š¶ Boat Access
A private boat ramp located along the southern shore provides access for non-motorized watercraft only. Canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards are welcome. The lakeās motor-free policy ensures a quiet, safe, and environmentally sound experience for all. Watercraft may not be stored or left unattended on the beach areas. Any items left in violation of this guideline may be subject to removal. Boats must display resident-issued sticker from FMLPOA.

Catch-and-release fishing is permitted for residents only and is a favorite pastime for many. To protect the safety of swimmers and preserve the lakeās health, fishing is not permitted on beaches when people are swimming. Learn more.
